Top 10 ways to know if you are a 3DO fanboy

Post by Trev » Sat Jun 07, 2008 3:36 pm

10 - You are an active member of this forum, who posts something each week.

9 - 3DOKids blog has been added to your favorites list, and you've seen most of his You Tube videos.

8 - You own the full complete retail version of a game ... but you still want the buggy 1 level demo.

7 - The age suggestion on games like Putt Putt & Sesame Street mean nothing to you.

6 - 3 copies of the same game? Yes of course ... 1 regional, 1 import, and 1 sealed.

5 - You re-bought Onside & Powerslide from GoodDeaGames just for the new packaging.

4 - You hate text adventures and you don't read a lick of japanese, yet you still own 'Miss Yamamura' and 'Blue chicago blue'.

3 - Trip Hawkins means more to you than Hideo Kojima.

2- You keep searching, hoping to discover some long lost M2 software.

And the #1 way to know you are a 3DO fanboy ...

1 - Despite the risks, you keep hacking the Game Guru in hopes that you can discover how to break 3DO's encryption. 8)

I wrote a letter to Trip Hawkins, thanking him for the 3DO.
I believe I'm single largest contributer to YouTube for 3DO related guff.

Oh what have i become?

Well, seeing as you are an ex-collector Lemmi, I guess you could also be an ex-fanboy. Heck, I only qualify for 6 at the moment and I made the list (it could jump up to as many as 8 though anyday now)

It is interesting that you qualify for 4 in order Lemmi ... makes me feel like I listed them in a fairly good sequence.

Kojima = Snatcher, Policenauts, Metal Gear Solid

I want an english translation for Policenauts so bad!!! Possibly the best 3DO game most of us have never played.

I heard that Policenauts is a tad slow. :D

Anyway - Dr Hauzer is the best. (Honest)

Also, you missed off the obvious ones that every good 3DO fanboy does.

1) Hawks through eBay at least 3 times a week to see if there is anything good on there, and then gets that sinking feeling in his heart when he gets to the listing for 3DO made Gamboy carts right at the bottom. Plus has a nagging feeling he should buy them cables from that guy in Sweden. (I got an S-Video lead from him...)

2) Has a link to yahoo.co.jp in his favourites for the same reason.

3) Knows Azuma. ;)

4) Even if he owns a next-gen machine, still refuses to buy games for it knowing that he has something similiar on the 3DO that he's never completed.

5) Gets heart broken (time and time again) in Retro Video game stores because there is never a 3DO game there.

6) As above, but with car boot sales.

It won't. You are doomed. In a few months time Doom 4 will be out and you will think to yourself... "Hmmm, I never did finish spacehulk on the 3DO... I'll do that first." At that point -- it's all over.

Doom 3 was as fun as cancer. I doubt Doom 4 would be any different.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought it was rubbish.
