				Other adult games?

I was looking through an older issue of 3DO Club News recently, and in the middle of each issue they always had a list of stuff you could order from 3DO Direct. 2 listings caught my eye.
1- Item # 02317-001 Passion Files (MPEG ONLY) Published by Electric Dreams $39.95 adult
2- Item # 02321-001 Red Chair, The (MPEG ONLY) Published by Pixis $39.95 adult
Both of thes titles have now listied for date available. The Club News was accuarte on this ... all unreleased games had specific future dates listied. So as of September 1995 (if not earleir) these titles were available.
I've never seen them included among lists of 3DO adult software. And Pixis is known among 3DO fans for 'NeuroDancer'. I was surprised to learn they did another 3DO "game"
Has anyone ever seen/played these? Any info at all?

But, I am wondering why no other vcd movies were listed in the order form, just these two? Seems odd ...

maybe they were a test or something to see how many would buy them

or to see if anyone owned the vcd attachments
i bet for every 100 3do's sold 1 vcd unit might have been sold for the goldstar only (just a guess and to say no one bought the vcd units) i didnt know they exsisted untill 2002

Interesting that they would choose adult movies for a test run ... guess they thought the bulk of 3DO owners were pervs!

well as you said one of them was by a company that had a 3do game. Maybe they were just trying to pedal their other products and since the 3do did have a VCD player it was worth a try. To be honest im not even sure why anyone would try to sell anything in VCD.

I guess they were quite popular in Japan.

I know it was a major piracy format. But I have never seen a real pressed vcd. From what i remember of VCDs though, i think i would prefer VHS tapes. SVCDs weren't bad though but good quality meant more discs.
hmm if VCDs were popular, there must of been alot of multi disc movies. VHS tapes might of been cheaper too then in that case.

i remember way back in the day when i first got a 3do the ebx at the mall had a goldstar vcd unit and they had one vcd version of total recall sitting next to the vcd unit . but even after 3do was fading they were still asking alot for the vcd unit and eventually it was gone from the shelf along with total recall . i wonder if someone bought it or if they just got rid of it .

I have a few vcd's that I used to watch when I had a working cd-i unit. They are vhs quality w/dvd convience. Certain types of scenes are pretty sharp on vcd movies (a slight step up from vhs) but if it is a frantic scene w/lots of action, the quality is a slight step down (more pixilated & so forth)

VCDs were most popular in china, i even have a bootleg from there of Spiderman and they cut out the nipple shot of dunst in the rain, the VCD was out about 2 weeks before the actual movie hit the theater in the US
VCDs never caught on in the States
the main downside to VCDs are the 2 CDs it takes to hold a movie and having to get up to switch them. when i got my first dvd player in 2002 i was able to then put 1 cd in the CD-i and 1 in the dvd player so i didnt have to get off my butt

also the shadow/pixelation was a problem especially on dark movies and ones with alot of action
i own
27 original VCDs
and 33 Philips CD-i originals

I think it was similar when movies first started coming out on laser discs also. I remember watching Batman, and I swear my friend got up
3 times to change the record size discs.
I only own a few on the bond cd-i vcds. I've never had the vcd player for 3DO.

I won an FZ1 VCD unit recently on yahoo japan.
I already have a FZ10 VCD, but only one film. Astrix the Gaul. ...but it's in German. And no, I don't speak German.
Is it possible to burn VCDs that will play on the VCD? Are they region protected in anyway?
