WHo has them technical docs?

Post by 3DOKid » Wed Nov 19, 2008 9:14 am

Who has them technical docs that were on eBay not so long ago?

What's the score?

I've been asked. I dunno. So I'm asking :)

Wasn't that just the service manual? It tells you how to take apart the system and may contain one or two circuit diagrams.

Well, if you are an electrical engineer like me, they are very interesting

A complete schematic diagram of the FZ-1 with a complete BOM. Signal test points with o-scope prints as well as literature describing the jobs of several of the main IC's.

On a side note, I've been doing some tinkering with the 3DO. Specifically, with the 3DO video output.
We all know that RGB output can be achieved. Unfortunately, as it stands right now the existing solutions for doing so aren't all that stable and/or require the use horizontal frequency doubling hardware such as the XRGB-2.
The reason for this is that the digital RGB signal is available between CLIO and the video encoder and the interpolation from 320X240 to 640X480 is done within the encoder.
Therefore, right now, you can grab the 3-channel digital RGB signal and decode it, but it is only at 320X240 resoution.
I'm working on a scalable interpolating DAC based solution that will allow the 3DO to output a true RGB signal at a multitiude of resolutions at proper horizontal frequencies. Things get a little tricky with the video timing signals, but it's nothing that a little more time can't overcome.

I'll keep ya guys posted.

Cooooooooool! 8) RGB output if stable would rock

Now all you need to do is make it go to 11

YPbPr would be great. (I'm sure you're thinking of YCbCr) but what happened to the scans?

I have done the rgb mod seemed stable to me.
if the xrgb syncs on it anything should.
Once you have rgb you can go to component with no problem.
I have a rgb scart to component convert at home lent to me for a rgb nes mod i am doing, ill test it out and by pass the xrgb2.
I thought the other person i did the mod for used both a rgb displays and a xrgb 2 with no problem.

The guy that made the freedo 3do emulator had the data sheet for the video encoder. When i needed it to help me with the rgb mod he would not release the info saying he could get in legal trouble.............
