Biggest Genre missing from the 3DO catelogue.

SHMUPS. Not a single, classic, SHMUP. Lot's of pseduo-3D-pre-rendered stuff, but nothing like Raiden or indeed, R-Type. The 3DO would have done a decent of R-type one would imagine!

What else would you have liked?

That what the Saturn was for!

I would have liked to see more 2D platformers. Heck, more 2D on the 3DO in general. Gex proved it can be done and done well. 3DO needed a Mario or Sonic of its own.

I agree with 3DOkid top down shooters needed badly :)

also 2D platformers, shame there isn't a homebrew scene with the 3DO.

Silly 3DO fans ...
SHMUPS. Not a single, classic, SHMUP.
How could we forget that 'Fun n' Games' has a 2d shooter! Not a classic I suppose ...

How about some racing games w/true 2-player support?

Or a few more sport games (hockey, tennis)

He's right. One of those tacky little WARP games features SHMUP bit too.

certainly didn't need anymore soccer or golf!

2 player car racing (biggest selling race game of all time was Mario Kart)
3DO could've done that(maybe even 4 player split screen!) - Gex Go-Kart anyone? A sense of humour and decent audio mmmmmmm what could've been!

A CGI rendered upgrade of 1942 or Commando - awesome!
man I pumped some coinage into those babies ! 8)
