I was thinking about possible new 3do releases (or lack thereof) and was bouncing around ideas in my head about what would be the most simple project to get the ball rolling among fans (assuming the encryption cracking is either discovered, shared, or (gulp) sold)

Anyone remember those old text adventures from the early 80's ... no graphics & sound, just pure text? I would love to play the next Zork on 3do.

Oh well, I can always dream ...

Easiest one would be something like Plumbers don't wear ties. Not necessarily just like it.

A tree based path with player deciding what to do next.

In theory, a video-based tree is not much more complex than a picture-based one like Plumbers. But there is a lot of crunching to do on the video clips. But if you can handle that, variables like scores, dollar amounts in Zhadnost, etc are typically child's play in comparison.

If I ever get around to it, my plan for a first homebrew was just to compile all the demos in the SDK and put them together with a menu/interface so people could just play around with them.

There's not a whole lot of motivation without encryption, though...

Well, I got the development environment up and running on my new computer and compiled another demo to refresh my memory on how to do all this stuff. It's nothing exciting -- just the 3DO logo spinning and a crowd cheering. But if someone has a testing station or dev capable version of Freedo, then feel free to download it:
