Hi. I have an FZ-1 US Model 3DO, and after I play the game Slayer on it for a certain amount of time (less than an hour), the audio starts to skip. I have tried cleaning the Laser and the disc, but the problem persists. Does anyone know if this may be a game-specific problem?

I don't think so... I have the exact same 3DO model as you do, and have played Slayer a great deal without ever running into this problem. Maybe there's a minor scratch on the disc.
