I recently acquired a "like-new" Japanese FZ-1 and it reads original music and game discs falwlessly. It just won't read my backup cds that are already working on my FZ-10. I tried burning the games using many different burners and CD-R types, the console just spits the disc out after giving me a black screen for about a minutes, sometimes a bit less.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Cleaning the laser might help, then again it might not. My FZ-10 will read CD-Rs if the wind is blowing in the right direction but my FZ-1 has never liked them.

actually cleaning the laser always does the trick for me with my FZ-10 but no matter how hard I try it won't work with my Jap FZ-1.

Maybe if I adjust the laser, it would get better? Anyone has any guide for adjusting pots or anything similar?
