This has been a big year for the 3DO with the ability to now sign disks and FreeDO going open source.

I thought this was an early april fools joke. OK. Who wants to take bets on when that site is going to disappear?

The same thought crossed my mind ... :P

I will forever hope though. We haven't had any major 3DO happenings since the Older Games releases back in 2007, so we are due.

is it the source code? Can I compile it for linux?

Yeah, it's there. You'll need SVN to check it out (or I guess just browse to each file independently). It looks like it's just the core system code, though. Stuff like the CPU and Madam components. I don't see any UI stuff.

Seems like it's probably meant more for people to build their own new emulators out of, or to port to other platforms. Unless I'm missing something. There's surprisingly little code here.
