I just bought a Pioneer PL-L70 Linear Direct Drive Programmable Turntable, when I power it on the turntable moves and the needle drops from it's lock position but it won't move to the record. I heard that they need adjusting from time to time but I have no clue where to find this info. Search engines are worthless nowadays. Does anyone know how to fix it or a forum I might ask in???

I do believe it's a rubber belt that moves the turntable, over time the rubber belt will break down and wear out. Hopefully thats not the case for you. Is the surface moving underneath the record? I assume you mean the arm moves over and drops the needle but the record doesn't spin at all at any time? Record should be spinning before the needle drops. I would try opening it up and seeing if you can see whats not working.

On another note, I know musician's friend still sells new record players. Thought about buying one and collecting some old records. I could of had a bunch of records, had my dad not burned them all in some church thing. EVIL! :/

No, that is the exact opposite of what is happening, the needle will not move and the turntable spins. It is a direct drive (as belts are crap) and an automatic arm with a sensor to find the tracks for you. For more info see this auction (I did not buy from this guy, this is just an example).

Can anyone else help?
