Post pics of your old/new/current/past cars here.

I love cars. I love looking at cars, I love driving cars, I love reading about cars, I love cleaning and washing and detailing cars, I love cars. There is, with but a handful of exceptions (all French cars) no such thing as a bad car.

Here is my old Mazda. God - I loved this car. It was nothing special.

It was the 1.8L limited edition made in 2001. I bought it after owning an Alfa Romeo that had single-mindedly sort to send me bankrupt. So I eventually stuck the Alfa on eBay and with the few grand i managed to salvage from it, bought this thing. Now I appreciate that 1.8L to you Americans is puny, and maybe it is, but this is the best handling, most amazing reliable, car I have ever owned. I sold it 3 years ago, but if I see one parked up, I still feel the urge to have peak in side and have smile. This thing cornered like it was on rails, Top speed wasn't great, acceleration was great either but it's pretty low, and it's like a proper, yet reliable, 1960s British Sports car. (Only Japanese and cheap and easy to repair and never ran out of electricity)

The car previous was a Alfa 156 2.0 Selespeed.

Absolutely beautiful. Silver, big silly fin, tiptronic semi automatic gear box, full leather interior, side-skirts, the works. It was beautiful. It sounded awesome - the tone, even from the poxy 2.0L engine was amazing. However here are a list of faults:

1. Light bulbs - blinked in and out of existence with all the life expectancy of fruit-flies.
2. Head Gasket skimmed.
3. injector sensors replaced.
4. Cooling system replaced. Twice.
5. Semi-auto gear box replaced.
6. Semi-auto gear box was more indecisive than pooh fly in a cow field.
7. Dealers (the people who sell the cars) are thieving lying scum.
8. Electronics in general were, at best, rubbish.

it cost me thousands and thousands and thousands... Hateful, stupid, despicable piece of junk.

The previous car was a Suburu Impreza AWD 2000.

Performance out of 10: 10.
General public reaction out of 10: 5.
build quality of engine out of 10: 10.
Build quality everything else out of 10: 1
Mouth left open terrifying twist the chasis blistering bat-outta-hell for leather 0 - 60Mph out of 10: 20.

This car was awesome, and had a very rattly interior. I only had it because the chap at work (it was a company car) was car jacked two weeks after getting it, and after that his girl friend refused to get into the car, nobody else wanted it at work, so the ol' 3DOkid hand was up in the air and waving 'I'll have it! I'll have it' -- it was awesome :)

here are some of my old cars

the bottom left is a 1980 oldsmobile Omega, the steering colum moved and if it moved up while going in reverse it would shut the car off

upper left - 1973 Monte carlo, the engine was made for racing and it used $2.80 a gallon racing fuel (in 1989 that it) when i got it i had to tune it back for normal driving.
in the bottom pic you can see the accident i was in with it. i was hit by a drunk driver at the end of my street the door was knocked in 12 inches
i got it fixed and drove it for 6 months but it was never the same and i sold it

bottom right 1985 cutlas supreme, the best riding car i ever owned, it felt like floating on air, but a girlfriend totalled it

upper right corner is a white chrysler lebaron. the worst car ever made mainly because of the 4 wheel disc brakes that costs $800+ to fix and after 3 machanics couldnt tell me why the brakes wore out after aonly a year of use, i let it rot in the driveway for 2 years and i got me a 1997 jeep cheroke which is still going strong but its close to its last legs, and since i wont be using it for atleast a year my step dad is going to use it to go to work which will probably put the nail in its coffin

well thats it enjoy

That first car in the first picture is awesome. I have no idea what 1973 Monte carlo is but it looks like car from the game "Driver". And in my book, that makes it cool.

I hope you kept the receipt on some of those. Looks like some joker put the steering wheel in on the wrong side. Tch!

What the hell happened to the one with 'prang' in the driver-side?

Well here goes - I've owned a lot of cars over the years (at one time I had 5 at once!) - so here are some of my more interesting vehicles.

This is my first car a 1971 Holden HQ Kingswood 4.2 litre V8. Holden are Australia's division of GM and would modify or produce their own designs to suit Aussie conditions.

[img][/img]

A friend then introduced me to the British mini and thus started a 12 year obsession - these are two Leyland models I cut my teeth on.

[img][/img]

This one was a beast it was atrue 1.3 litre with massive modifications and fully removeable fibreglass tilt front. This one I used regularly in motorsport events.

[img][/img]

I then spent 12 years restoring a genuine 1967 Cooper S MK1 - this car was rebuilt by me from the ground up - it was near perfect. ...it was sold to buy a new bathroom - I was not happy
It was a beautiful car but by then I had two kids to support (that's my eldest in the picture taken 2001) The car took just 48hours to sell.

[img][/img]
[img][/img]
[img][/img]
[img][/img]

In between the minis I restored this VW Type 3 Notchback - It was one helluva car - twin carbs , extractors , Kombi 2.0 litre - but I kept blowing engines until I removed the spare wheel and fitted an oil cooler. That was a big job.

[img][/img]

This one here was my last project a 1983 BMW 728i - I only sold this one a couple of years back - just too expensive to run as a spare car.

My dad had a Mini Clubman - a green one for years. And he used to carry three kids and his wife around in it. Always makes me laugh when people (my brother) have one very small baby, then feel compelled to buy a 7 seater 4x4 all Terrain Monstrosity.

That blue mini looks beautiful by the way and those classic BMWs are very beautiful.

Yeah the Beemer was nice - it was the first of the 7 series and just had everything - I believe the designers were given a simple brief - just make a big comfortable car to get from A - B as quickly as possible.

I made sure everything on the Cooper S was just right - I found out a company in the UK still had the original upholstery presses tracked them down and sent them a sample. I then had the entire vinyl pre cut and studded and sent to OZ. It was very costly and it probably took 12 years to find all the correct "bits" - no internet or ebay back then. The guy who bought it drove over 400 miles to view it and left a sizeable deposit on the spot - it was truly a beauty.

That mini is aces. I guess the 'tin worm' isn't so common in Oz. :)

The Golf I had, despite being a VR6, looked like an old woman shopping trolley, what they have done with newest ones is awesome. That latest one is awesome. (I like the Toyota too!)

Yeah I did weld new inner wings and strut towers in when I bought it
