Moving is a pain

Upgrade from a moderate size apartment to a nice big house is awesome, but man what a hassle boxing up all my gaming crap! Plus, 2 weeks w/out internet translates into a backlog of messages that I'm late to.

That is all.

Nope, one more thing ... while all other systems were in boxes on the truck, my 3DO and games (in cd binders) rode in the passenger seat w/me.

Oh, and before anyone asks, my wife was w/my mom in law thus avoiding the potential conflict of who would sit where.

Making a woman run behind the removal truck, while a games console rides shotgun has a negative effect on the neighbors, trust me

The "PODS" thing we have over here is a great idea. They drop off the shipping container, you fill it up over time and then it gets put back on a truck and you move. I just wish they had that service the one year I moved 4 times! Well the 3rd time wouldn't really matter as it was the same building, just moved up a floor. But the other three times it would have been frickin' nice!

I want to buy but I can't afford the size I want on my own. :(
and I want to live alone... so I either need to make more $ or find someone special that I want to spend the rest of my life with

In fairness, excluding these 'special abilities' would result in a fairly small minority. It would like saying I want a partner, but one that has no head.

/me shakes his head.

I've been quite lucky. I havent had to move in a good 7 or 8 years. I always end up helping other people move their stuff though. I think I have helped with about 4 or 5 moves in that 7 to 8 year period. :/

One day i'll have a house, Still saving money though. Not sure what I would do with a whole house. I think one room would have to be a music studio for sure. It would be nice not having to setup all my music equipment everytime I want to record something.

I'm still looking for a girl with enough consideration to lift the toilet seat once she's finished.

We can't complain right now.
We are actively moving stuff from one house to another right now, but it's a good thing for us.

We pulled our money out of our investment accounts (The investing was my idea! That didn't work out too well. :-( ) and bought a foreclosure on the Oregon Coast. I don't feel necessarily good about taking advantage of someone's loss, but then again, it has an ocean view.. :-)

We haven't moved over the large TV, just the smaller one.
And I've only moved 1 console over there.
Yep, the 3DO! :-)

So now I can play 3DO happily and try not to think of two mortgages and 2 electric bills and two gas bills and two..
I need to play some more GEX right now..

I don't know, it's quite nice to have a break from the internets media overload once in a while. Kinda fresh when you do get around to visiting it again then.

good to hear! we've missed you!

I'm going to break with protocol soon and put up some pics of my new digs!

I think a few of us have embarked on some "new beginnings" of late.

I find snippets of other cultures and ways of life fascinating and am always happy to share mine.
