The great 360 smashy smashy

Okay, the one category that has constantly failed to turn a profit for me is the 360. I don't like the system, I don't like the ethic it was built with, and I HATE the scummy non-customers who come in here and try to rip me off.

After one last sale, I will pick out the few salvagable titles, then perform a flaming sledge hammer smash on the pile.

l WILL not give away any titles. The satisfaction and lasting Youtube infamy mean more to me than being pals. I will entertain trade offers, but haltingly.

A candidate for video event of the year. :)

What annoys me most about the 360, is the entire generation of gamers, who lament tearing, dead pixels, controllers, online gaming features (and lack of), they foam at the mouth at the mere mention of sony, embraced casual gaming like I embrace Angry birds, (those little turdy green pig bas!#rds) were happy to accept a flakey, over-priced, cheap console that grotesquely over charged for a 20Gb HDD, Wifi adapter, and failed HD-DVD, in addition they were being oversold quite average games (Gears, Halo 3) at quite unaverage prices. They also view Microsoft as a fluffly hugable loveable family firm, because Gates dodged a few million dollars in TAX by feeding a few starving africans, (he did and I know how this works, you offset tax against government approved schemes, all rich people do it, it's win-win, you look good and save $$$) while Sony is the very embodiement of Mishima/Nazi Zaibatsu, errr, IDGI.

So yeah - smash the shit out of it.

Hmmm ... I am certainly not a 360 fan ... but I'm too much of a video game collector to ever destroy a game on purpose.

I once made a key-chain out of the Mario bros/Duck hunt NES cartridge board.

Don't have a pic do you?

Its funny, right after I posted that I thought to myself 'If I were to ever do something like that, it world probably be w/a mario/duck hunt cart'

Or maybe old sport games from like 2002 or something. Very few exceptions though to my earlier comment.

I do not have a pic. I must of done that like back in high school. Well over 10 years ago. I bought the cart for like a measly 50 cents from a used video game store where you could visualy see they had about 30 carts sitting on the shelf. The guy wouldn't sell me it for the longest time becuase he knew I wasn't going to play it. Once I told him I wanted to make a key chain he finally sold to it to me. I think it was at Funcoland. Used to hang out there cause I knew everyone who worked there.

all I did was punch a hole through one of the corners and put a key ring in it lol.

I have good memories of Funcoland, but later in it's life I didn't know the people there and they started going all nazi with "If you aren't going to buy something please leave". Which I didn't have a problem with it, I usualy left with at least an NES game. I also understood it too, some parents thought they could just drop their kids off there like it was a free arcade/daycare. I do remember when a Friend and I would frequently walk an hour even in the winter cold just to get there and hang out lol.

i smashed an atari 2600 cart back in the 80's
it was Frogger, the damn thing wouldnt play 90% of the time, so i ripped it out of the system and threw it against the wall. the funny thing is it worked everytime after that because all that was left was the pcb board and i would just stick that into the system

i still have it and it still works

talk about low tech support. Hey if it works, it works. I never had that stupid security bit to change the battery in carts so when I was younger I would just crack the damn thing open by force, replace the battery, and then tape it back together. I think only did this to my friends games though lol. I never had battery problems ever. I should ask my sister if the ol carts are still keeping saves. IF SHE HASNT SOLD MORE OF MY GAMES!!! sorry. thats not a rant for now :)

I would always leave Funco with an arm load of goodies.

Ohhhh FuncoLand, how awesome they were when they carried NES games.. so many good, cheap games.. with a large selection wherever I would go...

I miss those days.

So I just half-priced my 360 stock on a deal forum and was met with immediate passive-aggressive BS. And here I had been reconsidering.

[rant]I hate pretty much all the 7th Gen consoles, but the Xbox 360 seems to go ABOVE AND BEYOND to piss me off.
Overpriced DLC which won't be available at all in a few years - check.
Flaky design that crashes and breaks all the time, meaning it will be nigh-impossible to find a working console when these things become collectible - check.
A library composed primarily of cheap genre entries churned out by a multitude of soulless corporate amalgamations pretending to be hip and indie - check.
Poorly conceived iPod design aesthetic that makes me want to gouge my eyeballs out rather than look at it - check.
Annoying, ignorant, mouth-breathing fan-base who wouldn't know a decent game if it ran them over - check.
So, yeah. I don't like the 360. I'll get it when they're dirt cheap at used game stores in a few years, but I don't plan to invest in one any time soon.
So, yeah. More power to you for not supporting the damn thing anymore. It doesn't deserve it.
[/rant]

So I guess I would be disowned if I said I like the 360?

I need a new desktop PC. I have 7 PC's, but they are all too weedy for games, I just use them for work and testing stuff.

Thing is I am way behind on Processors and Graphics Cards, I don't know what's what anymore. Plus, all I would do is install Command and Conquer 3, chew all the meat off of my thumb and lose days on end. Again.

I've far too many real friends who also enjoy video games (not quite as much as me though) to ever have the pc be a serious gaming option for me. Is cool for classic point n' click games though.

Apparently all his friends are poor and never heard of a LAN party.

Trash talking loses something when you have to do it over a mic.

At a LAN party you can talk trash to the people who are in the same room.

Figures, this is the one post I read w/my wife sitting right here. I explain that the pic is meant to convey a look of disgust ... but all she sees are the boobs (and the same pretty much holds true for me)

For the sake of my marriage, use the Picard pic next time!
