Devin builds a new PC
Not really a PC MOD freak but looking at the market no place provides the pre-built system I'm looking for so what the heck I'll build my own! I did another system once with the old Slot AMD CPUs and Windows 98 OS I doubt much has changed since them days besides some much needed Wattage and cooling capabilities. I'll pickup a bookazine covering the essentials soon(ish) to educate myself on the new PC-Tech. However I'm looking at the following type of setup. Any recommendations appreciated...
1KW psu??? you can do with a 600 but anyway. i think the system is fair and balanced and fine for two years but if you want top quality you have to put at least a 8800gtx and a duo6700 to run the current games at their top. i have a core2duo 6700,2gb ram, asus p5n32-sli,nx8800gtx and i run stalker at its full options perfectly.
I'm looking forward to alot of extra bits not least of all a second card for SLI once the price comes down and a secondary card is a reasonable purchase. Figure a 1KW PSU will cover all bases and maybe provide a longer term investment past even two years! I am considering the alterations you suggested, might be worth holding off a while for a little price reduction but we'll see
