I have one now. I've had it for a week. Resulted in an ER trip. The pain is beyond description. The meds turn me into a zombie. I worked only 2 hours I've my 43 hour work week.

Doc thinks it is too big to pass on my own. Will try to shatter it w/sound waves. Who knows if it will work. I do know it will be expensive though.

Add in the cost of the ER visit, the cat scan, repeated visits to the urologist, meds, missed work, etc .. Not as bad as poor Vance's bill, but still quite high. Right around the time we are getting ready to move too.

At $53,000 dollars you could buy some travel medical insurance, fly to the UK, "become ill" and have a holiday at the same time. All for about $4,000. Which is a bargain.

I think it's going to take the smile off of you face for a short while, and perhaps other parts, but I'm sure you will be fine matey. It's not nice though right? Like I say I had one once, and yeah, nasty.

I'll be thinking of you :)

Well, its been a miserable week. I postponed the surgery. $22,000 makes one think twice about these sort of things.

Trying hard to shrink this sucker with herbs so that I can spit it out. It's been a long 3 weeks, and looks like it may be a long month (but hopefully not a financially crippling one)

Just noticed this is my 2,000th post. Not quite the epic I had in mind.

Congrats on the post count, not so much on your ding dong. It seems like all the main crew here are in the midst of trouble. If you can count Will's whining about being bored in paradise.

Trev, matey, I really don't think you have a choice do you? get a second opinion by all means, but don't put money on your health.

It's easy for me to say right? In the UK it costs nothing, and I know $22,000 is a lot, but...

Mate -- seriously.

Surgery is still an option, but only as a last resort. I need to exhaust all other options first. Plus, I sell herbs for a living so it seems only fitting that I try them first.

Unbelievable. What's happening here!
Trev we feel with you, although I don't know how it feels.
The kidney stones need to be banned, I mean smashed.
Trev, steer clear of oxalic acid.

I'm gonna give it one more week. If no movement is happening, I'll re-schedule the surgery.

On the plus side, being home a lot had left me more time for video games. For instance, yesterday was miserable w/me sleeping most of the day. So when I woke up at 3 am this morning, I popped in Lucienne's Quest. Good times.
