It's kind of a rule any forum dedicated to video games, comic books, movies, anime, robots, technology, or science fiction, needs a Star Wars discussion so I always have to ask.

Also since it is a video game forum some Star Wars related video game questions.

First, are there any Star Wars games for 3DO?

Second, What is your favorite Star Wars video game for any console?

Third, do you prefer the movie cannon or the expanded universe cannon?

I'm a fan! :D

Yes, 3DO did get a port of Star Wars Rebel Assault (sadly it is not enhanced to take advantage of the 3DO hardware)

My favorite Star Wars game .... hmmm ... tough one. I'll have to think about it and revisit this thread later.

Expanded universe cannon in what? You mean books, games, etc ...?

Every Star Wars thing since immediately after Return of the Jedi end titles scrolled has been utter rubbish. Mostly. I loved the original films, but Lucas seems out to humiliate us for some reason.

well when I refer to expanded universe I mean everything that is not in the movies but you can limit it to just books or just comics or just video games however you see fit.

My favorite video game I would say is a tie between the arcade game Star Wars Trilogy and Force Commander. I did like Empire at War but my video card at the time was under powered and it ran like crap I should look into finding a copy again and see if it will work on Windows 7 64 bit or not.

I've played or owned several Star Wars game over the years from the Atari 2600, to the trilogy on the Snes, etc ..., but (looking quickly through my collection) I can only find these at the moment ...

Rebel Assault - 3DO
Rebel Assault II, The Hidden Empire - Psx
Ep. I racer - DC
Battlefront II - Psp

I thought I had more ... :?

I always like the look of Xwing and Tie Fighter on the PC back in the day. However, by the time I could afford my very own PC, the moment had passed and the game aged badly.

I tried to play the Lego version. And got bored quickly. And then on the PS3 games I tried to play were called 'The Force' and it's sequel but I found it numbingly dull.

I liked the Star Wars games on the Gamecube? Which were they. They were onrails but good fun. However, not obviously good enough for me to remember their name.

Rebel Assault on the 3DO, despite it's flaws, is probably my favourite. But then, I'm supposed to say that I guess.

EDIT:

Star Wars Arcade. Wireframe. That was the best. That was as far as I am concerned, almost perfect.

I certainly have the most memories with it. When I discovered there was a video store the next town up from me that actually rented 3DO games (hard to believe, I know :o ) Rebel Assault was the first game I grabbed. I had a blast that weekend! :)

I enjoyed the SNES Star Wars games. Super Empire Strikes Back was my favorite of that trilogy. Star Wars Arcade was mildly enjoyable on the 32X. Dark Forces is another solid one for the PC. SW: Battlefront on some of the more modern consoles is actually a lot of fun for what they are.. Rebel Assault was "meh" on the Sega CD, never did play the 3DO one.. Never did try any of the other classics that were touted, like the Tie Fighter or X-Wing series on the PC.

definitely hard that is for sure. I think I only ever beat it one time and I am pretty sure I had to use a cheat to do that and if I remember correctly it was still hard even with the cheat.

I thought the Snes games went a little over the top w/difficulty at times. Certrtain parts were just brutal w/unavoidable hits.

Yes, they were brutal. But god damn did it feel good when you maxed out your firepower.
