I have an XBOX 360, but I am a solo game player, and have heard to stay away from the Gears of War games in single-player, because (so the argument goes) the games stink without another person to play them with-so, you'll be constantly reviving the other guy, and so forth.

BUT, I LOVE third-person shooters, so is any of this true? If I'm just going to play the Gears games by themselves, should I get any of them??

The SP campaign is the only reason I played the original. And I think I finished it three times, once on each difficulty. Definitely worth the cost of admission just for that, even when it was new.
