Selling something on ebay...

Post by 3DOKid » Wed Jun 27, 2012 3:58 pm

I was selling something on eBay. The auction ended, the guy hadn't paid, and then after two days he starts arguing about shipping costs. So, i got annoyed and cancelled the sale and told him to sod off -- no problem, i just relist.

Then i get the sob stories, "...I'm unemployed!" Now, the item is a part for a Porsche 911, so yeah... But WAIT! He then tells me it's for a customer? Unemployed but for a customer? Hold-on...!? Social Services know about this? Benefit fraud is a crime...

He was bickering over £2.99 he claims i was over-charging for the shipping. I probably was. The item is worth £170 and it was being sold for £50 to make room in the garage, and I was charging £10 to ship it. So yeah, £2.99. Maybe shipping was closer to £7 -- what a scoundrel and rouge i am.

I wouldn't mind adjusting the shipping BEFORE the auction ends but two days after? f**k-off.

I bought a laptop part for a friend not too long ago. They sent me the wrong part and now are trying to jack me claiming that it's 100% compatible it's not even the same size. I asked for an exchange for the part I ordered and they have been ignoring me. Tomorrow I escalate to be resolved by ebay. The really crappy part, they have a 100% feedback rating, I look at their feedback and there are several negatives this year alone. I thought the rating was only cleared after 12 months?

I remember back in the day when it was never cleared ... I like the new method better, but sounds like there is still room for improvement.

I have a rating of 100% on the back 919 transactions. I had one bad feedback, over a year ago, because I posted a copy of Halo 3 to the address ebay/paypal told me, but the guy had moved and not updated his account.

He blamed me, i appealed, ebay stuck by the buyer. Although partially i thinks that's because i called him a F****** idiot in my response to ebay.
