Worst game ever? Any console!

What is the worst game you've ever played? Being 3do owners gives us perspective on bad and good, both extremes.

So what is the worst, the crappiest, the absolute abomination of a game?

I'm putting a few into play:

Frantic Flea for Super Nintendo.
Combat for Atari 2600.
Back to the Future for NES.

We all know the usual bad games people talk about, ET... Revolution X... Bubsy 3d etc.

I have to do it; Shadow War Of Succession for the 3DO. That game is so bad it makes Kasumi Ninja for the Jaguar look like the greatest fighter ever made. Jaguar, speaking of which, has to get a vote for Checkered Flag. Made me cry it was so bad. The graphics were so nice but the game is nighunplayable!

A small handful of the many I can think of: (These are all games that I basically cannot survive 90 seconds of before going dizzy and waking up to find my family dead)

Club Drive (jaguar) Itchy and Scratchy (Genesis) WCW Backstage Assault (PSX) Dragon's Lair (Nes) Bible Adventure (Nes) Simpsons Wrestling (PSX) Friday 13th (Nes) Clayfighter 1+2 (All Versions) Gotham City Racer (PSX) Chase HQ (C64) Chiller (Arcade) Both ECW games (PSX/DC)

Ah, man, theres so many...

Back to the future 1,2+3 (Nes) Bruce Lee (Xbox) Badlands (Laserdisc) Doom (3do) oh MAN, SUPERMAN!!!! (N64) Violence Fight (Arcade)

Theres loads and loads more, im sure you all know them, the good thing about being a long term gamer (as we all are, I believe) is that amongst all the crappy games we play, we find more than enough gems, although I havnt lately :(

Theres nothing funny about the above games, they are video game equivalents to severe kitchen accidents.

This is madness! Madness?

Batman Forever for snes. What a steaming turd. It even had optical medium like load screens and cheesy ass animation.

Eloquently put :)

Batman generally has no fun in the videogame world. Most Batman games are F*cking terrible (swearing is warranted with these games)
I think the only ones I like are Batman the movie on Spectrum and the Snes version of the cartoon was ok.... I guess.

They should make an all new Batman game based on the 60s TV show, with all the original voices :) they just need to get Burt Ward outta his dogs home and ressurect most of the villains.

Would it be controversial to say 'Every Zelda game ever?'

OK - OK.

I think Akira on the Commodore Amiga left me most disillusioned. And heart broken. Suicidal? Would that be too far? God I loved that film. God that game was dire.

...or Halo?

I think there is a fine line between genuinely bad, and grossly over sold, trumped up mediocre garbage. Gears of War springs to mind. It is by no means 'all that' to be honest. It can't hold my attention. In fact, Novastorm has achieved more play time than GoW. I'm actually quite bitter about GoW. I never had any doubts that Iron Angel of the Apocalypse was bad. Ditto for Plumbers don't wear ties. So when I played them - I wasn't disappointed. Maybe I was expecting too much from GoW...

I hear ya THE 3dokid. 8)

I felt like that about God of War. It started out so strong, had me all fired up to keep ripping through. Then came puzzle, endless hacking, puzzle. BUT this game totally redeemed itself the final half of the game. That 2nd quarter of it though just didn't play it straight. It was if the developers had an identity crisis with what they where making. A beat'em up or another zelda clone. Other than that, I gotta pick up God of War 2 when I finish RE:Code Veronica for PS2.

Another bad game: Where's Waldo? for the NES

Good luck finding Waldo in this game. The graphics are so bad. You know what, just download it and see what I mean.

NES - all wisdom tree games (the bible games)

Tales of Symphonia for PS2 and Gamecube. I hate this game so. It is the most average game I've ever played. Nothing original. Namco should be ashamed.

OH how could we all forget...

PC hehe

Rise of the Traid: LOL Bad

Minesweeper is gay

The Sims: Perfect games for people with a god complex. But really, it's just a life simulator.

Doom 3: Was totally not Doom, Quake 4 was the true Doom 3. Id Software can't name a tech demo err I mean franchise.

Used to play rise of the triad over the phone. lol. It was that bad of a game though. Had some funny stuff to it i thought.

doom3 was ok i guess. People seem to like to pick the game apart and I can see why. I still bought it and played through it. Was playing it again recently too. When I first played through the game I had a crappier computer and had all the settings low. Even with the graphics turned way up now they dont impress me for some reason. Even Bioshock isnt that impressive. Only the water effects and the very begining impressed me. Still a good game though in my opinion.

Err i think i just went way off topic sorry. lol.

Im gonna call Stalker for PC crappy. There might be a game in there somewhere behind all the bugs and super high difficulty.

Hybrid (fps shooter) / PSX

HellNight (fps adventure) / PSX

Nearly every game today.
A dollar spent in graphics
A day spent in graphics
means:
two days less for interactivity, AI, freedom.

Stalker was disappointing, really. Just walk and shoot.

Also Halflife 2: Stupid AI, no freedom, just a good looking
straight shooter.

Imagine Halflife 2 would have been a Shenmue like game in
an alien-dictatorship-world. Now you understand what HL2 lost
when they made a fps out of it.
The beginning was great, but then...

I always kinda liked Halflife 2. But, come to think of it, usually when I died in it, it was the result of not having enough ammo, or not having the "way out" in a logical spot (just beyond hard ot find). So the AI wasn't really good, just kinda cheaped out.

Most games listed here can be enjoyed for a little.
But
Saturn death crimson
is so bad its only good for a laugh...:P

HL2 a bad game?
That's just an non-average opinion
8 out of 10 people like it.

death crimson 0 out of 10 people would like it.

I thought Half-Life 2 was great, even though I played the sub-par Xbox port. I agree it was very linear but I found it to be one damn good game. The vehicle sections were a bit too long. That's my only complaint... well that, and the ending.

Halo and Black, on the other hand, I hate. Those games are far from fun. I loved Halo up until The Silent Cartographer. Everything afterwards went to complete shit. And I don't know about you guys but I sure as hell do not like playing the same levels over and over again. Black was boring too. I had an urge to play it last night. Geez, do I regret that. Beat the first 2 levels again and just shut if off. Horrible game.

Other popular games that I consider to be shitty:
Final Fantasy VII
Final Fantasy X
(note: I'm a huge RPG fan but those 2 just SUCK!)
Metal Gear Solid 2 (the rest in the series are amazing)
God of War
Drakengard
Devil May Cry
and many more

I'd sooner strap myself to my couch and play Hard Drivin' and Shaq Fu on my Sega Genesis while chugging whiskey for a week than playing any of those games ever again.

I recently had the pleasure of wasting 12 hours of my life on Final Fantasy 12. I just kept hoping it would get better, then I peeked onto the faqs to see what was coming... nothing... no big plot events... nothing... just endless offline-mmo-hacking hacking hacking. I couldn't take it any more. I've loved every FF game until that.

I even went on some FF type forums and youtube and tried to poke at the hornets nest about FF12 and strangely enough, the very fans of the game, agreed that it was bad, or at least very flawed. Very strange.

The first hour suggests that its going to be EPIC but it was anything but.

Oh and I secretly like the Wisdom Tree games... so bad it's good.

Worst game ever... Fantasia on the Megadrive/Genesis.

Promises so much but simply delivers disappointment in a sugar coated wrapper

The worse game ever? In the arcade, it was this 3d character in a prism with mirrors on all sides, I forget the name but it sucked big time. It kind of looked like indiana jones, the gameplay was non existant, just a 3d tech demo.

MTV Skateboarding for the Dreamcast, Any Tony hawk skating fans out there? You'll know what i meen if you play the mtv crap,,

And worth a mention,,,,,,,, Pretty much any EA sports game for genesis or snes

yeah rise of the robots on the CD32 - believe it or not the 3do version was more playable but they are all poor. I've never been so disappointed with a games purchase before

Daytona on the saturn - even sega's best and brightest couldn't get this one to go . It was C H O P P Y!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and damn near unplayable (collision detection was woeful)

3do is dead , long live 3do

yeah rise of the robots on the CD32 - believe it or not the 3do version was more playable
Also, I could never get the movies that played in between fights to play on my cd32 copy. All I get is static pics. Big color difference too ... w/ a low max of colors on screen, the cd32 has to dither & such. Makes some games appear washed out I think.

(collision detection was woeful)
Was it as bad as 3DO's Powerslide?

I agree, Saturn had chopy ports of both Daytona games. The DC versionis the way to go!

Those movies played on mine if I remember correctly - and yes the DC version of Daytona was good . Only got reminded of Daytona today when some poor sod came into my shop with a Saturn needing one of their proprietry video cables .

Good to hear from you Trev!
