Import 3DO Question
Hello, I am interested in getting a imported panasonic 3d0 fz-10, but there is one thing that would make me buy one, or not. Is there a Region Lockout Chip on these Systems? Like if I got this (Hoping that it is from Japan) system, could I play NA/EU 3DO games on this?
Also, Im new here, so nice place you guys got here! All dedicated to the 3DO, its nice to see a community on such a overlooked but loved console.

Japanese 3DOs from any manufacturer should be able to play any Japanese Game.Lemmi wrote:all 3do games play on all 3do systems
except a handful of japanese titles which will only work on the Sanyo 3do system
Japanese systems should be able to play any Japanese or US game... and most UK releases (with a few notable exceptions).
just watch the voltge Japanese/US models are 110V NTSC
European/UK are 240V/PAL
Australian were 240V/NTSC (dont ask)

Due to our proximity to Asia the local distributers sourced mainly Goldstar units direct from Korea and then just swapped out the power units with the UK spares. It was far cheaper than re-importing the UK release ones. Even my FZ-1 is 240V NTSC , as was my first Goldstar. I was just lucky at the time my flatmate had an NTSC compatible TV - multi display units were not common here back then - no prob now though!
