Duelin' Firemen.
Another cancelled game methinks. Anyone know anything about it?

For some strange reason, becuase of the name, when I try to envision a game behind that name, it makes me think of FMV like 'Plumbers DWNT.' My guess is gay interactive soft-porn.

Duelin' Firemen was indeed a cancelled game, developed by a company that went on to make a few hit GBA games. It was likely to be really bad, but the FMV promised cheesy goodness. It starred Rudy Ray Moore of Dolemite fame, and another extremely talented and charismatic actor as his... rival, I think. It's unclear. Also featured are Timothy Leary, that dude from Devo, and a bunch of other notables.
Years later, the director cobbled together the footage into a long trailer. Be warned, this involves planes crashing into big buildings (still a sensitive topic in the States) and general brain-diddling weirdness.

I don't think they ever got to the gameplay portion of things, as the only other footage that exists is a mock-up of a side-scrolling stage, not even real gameplay. The story... such as it was, at least, involved your firefighters trying to find a building still standing in this horrible inferno in Chicago... and staging a hoe-down with their rivals. This is second-hand and may not be accurate, but when I e-mailed the director I never got a response.
Mysteries abound.

God - I'm a d**k-head. I sent you a link about your own post. For some reason I thought this was posted by Gir Draxa. In my defense I've been working hard last week (5:00am to 10:00pm for 4 out of the 5 days) and on the last day I was completely drunk. So, erm, why am I so dumb? Never mind. Why no I don't mind resurrecting a three year old dead thread.
Okay, here's what I can make out... my eyes don't hold up to this for long stretches, so I'll write more later.
"It's warped. It's wild. It's maybe a little bit perverted and it's coming to your 3DO next year. It's probably the strangest game ever to be conceived by a human mind {misread?}, and it's called Duelin' Firemen!
Duelin' Firemen! is the brainchild of Chicago-based filmmaker Grady Sein and his partner in crime, Tony {can't read his name}. Together - along with a cast of {illegible} Windy City lunatics- they formed RUNANDGUN!, Inc., perhaps the..."
giving up for now. DAMN MY EYES!

This is some kind of archaic logic path. It indicates that you could play as either Rudy Ray Moore or John Los' characters, instead of being stuck with one. Two player would have been possible, but the switch off comment is weird. Why wouldn't it just be simultaneous play?
Here's Trip Hawkins trying to figure out where Runandgun Inc. hide their SuperWeed.

3DO Experience, you've just set yourself up for a load of private messages ...
Half will be asking you out on a date, the other half will be asking to see your goodies ...
by which I mean, of course, rare 3DO betas, promo material and the like, etc...
What'd you think I meant gutter heads?
P.S. Since I am married, you can guess which pm you'll be getting from me.

I'm actually a brunette and my hair is longer than her's, even after I got it cut. It used to be down to my butt, but I had it chopped off to my mid-back.
Oh and Vance, if that was me I don't know how I would take that comment.
"Wait. You don't have a bag of charcoal in your gaming room???"
