3DO "Meets"?

Post by knightintosh » Sun May 29, 2011 11:04 am

Was just wondering, have any of you ever organised any "meets" between yourselves? Days or nights where some of you have met up together to play 3DO games, have a laugh and (perhaps) drank copious amounts of alcohol?

I know this is an international forum, but have there been any such meets in any area, organised through the forum?

yep, I knew a bloke who lived near me in WA into 3DO and we used to swap games. We both used to work odd hour jobs so we never actually had a 3DO piss up night. He ended up swaping more games to me than i could return so i gave him an original (the disk) game he only had the box to...friend for life!!

This is the small most disparate group on the web. British, American, Germans, Spanish, French, Brazilian, Russian, the list is endless. We never meet.

We could however do an online meet I guess. IRC or something?

It's a shame, as I'm sure the multiplayer sessions would be great fun! Especially after a few ... ;)

That FAQ was edited down to avoid scaring people, too. We don't talk about what happened to poor, dear Lightning...

He'll always be with us in spirit. And a few tufts of hairy scalp. And something I finally yanked out of my radiator, I think it's a finger.

Damn driver's side door unlatches whenever I roll down the window. Your lawn will at least grow back in.

A 3DO meet would be cool, but yeah.. everyone's pretty far from one another.

There does seem to be a wide and varied selection of locations on here I have to say! But just for curiousity, how many regular users here are also from the UK? Oh, and the Republic of Ireland, our land masses are connected after all :)

I'm British, in Cambridge. I think there are a fair few of us to be honest with in the the UK. There's also a fair few Americans, but they, like us Europeans are quite well spread out.

We also have quite a few Australians. Disproportionate to the population size of the country and the sales of 3DO. Which is odd.

Then it's people from every where else. Russia, France, Germany, Greece, Canada, etc, etc.

Sounds great doesn't it? That's what was missing when I had a 3DO before, having friends around for lots of multiplayer action! (and the beer.)

Well if there's a few of us from the UK I think there could be scope there for sometime in the future perhaps... :) we're a wee small country after all.

We could have the worlds first 3DO festival.

Actually that would be pretty funny. Even if it's just me and you and one or two others getting hammered in a hotel somewhere. Birmingham? You can fly Belfast to Birmingham (avoiding Ryan Air if you like)

I'll get a banner made, 3DO Fest 2011, a couple of pictures and we're in the news section of retro gamer for sure. In fact, that can be our strap line :)

We could set up one here in the States on the same day. W/the magic of Skype it'd be like we were across the pond w/you.
