Alternate cover for Super Street Fighter II Turbo?
While browsing evilbay for 3DO goods, I came across this auction that has an alternate box cover for Super Street Fighter II Turbo. It uses the Japanese cover art. Did Panasonic release various covers here in the US, or did Japan get a special longbox release? I was under the impression all of their games were packaged in standard CD jewel cases, much like the Saturn and PlayStation were during the '90s.

I bought the Canadian version solely for the superior artwork. Even though I don't care for the multiple languages on the packaging, ala Atari Jaguar, its worth it when the cover looks so much better. Who want's to only stare at Akumas ugly mug?

What's wierd, is that when I originally bought my 3DO at Best Buy, they had both versions of Street Fighter 2 there. Most of them were the US version, with 1 being the Canadian, which I bought ofcoarse. I didn't know it at the time, I thought it was just a variant. They must've transfered it from a Best Buy in Canada is all I can guess

You know, I missed this the first time around. I must have that awesome looking box. I am really liking that box. I always thought the Japanese artwork looked really cool anyway! Sure it's really a pain in the ass to find because the box might be rare.
This is a stick up! Put all of your 3DO games in the bag and nobody gets hurt!
