D Directors cut

Post by 3DOKid » Sat Apr 21, 2007 8:04 am

I have D Special edition (Directors Cut) obviously devised when Directors Cut was new and exciting and not old-hat and cynical. There are 3 game disks - as opposed the usual 2 and one of those teeny halfsized CD disks, which contains audio disk.

What is interesting is that when they made this special edition the box art, for which the Japanese games are quite famous, regressed to dull but there you go.

3DO kid.

Agreed. You would think that with it being the director's cut they would have given the packaging some flare. I guess they were going for the old understated look.

Understated. In this case it's just another word for 'Cheap'.

Hmm, I would love to get my hands on that audio though, I bet it kicks much ass! :P

I remember reading that the audio was altered for the PSX & Saturn versions of D. Consensus was that the 3DO original had the superior soundtrack.

Hi. First-time poster. Have not even received my 3DO in the mail yet.

Judging by this video, that would be the case. Also, the title screen actually does stuff (I own the Saturn version, which has a basically motionless title screen).

3DOKid, do you know how to access "D" Goes Overseas & Best Scene of "D" from Disk A of D's diner Director's Cut? I've beat the game with all 4 bugs but even that didn't unlock it!

Thank you soooooo much. Really drives me nuts that I've tried everything I can think of and they still won't unlock.

OK - this is actually quite tough to find out. Anyone any clues for Uncle Kid?

Perhaps this video will answer a few questions you may have as to what's inside those 2 options.

Surprizingly, its a very understated OST CD. Those of you with it though, play track 99 for the D2 Trailer theme.

The third track is brilliant. Exceptionally good actually.

A big thank you Gir for sharing this. It's a great contribution buddy.

Or you could ask me. I know two different ways to access it.

I was going to post the easiest (and simplest) way to do it when the Collective was restored. Willing to wait or want it now? I'll let the group decide.
