1.) Return Fire
2.) Wolfenstein 3D
3.) Killing Time
It's too bad this wasn't a top ten because there are several other 3DO games that have outstanding soundtracks though. Road Rash comes to mind as it was so different for it's time. The licensed soundtrack was fantastic. DOOM, even though the port itself was less than spectacular, the music was awesome. Super Street Fighter II Turbo was really well done. You have to also throw a vote in there somewhere for Way of the Warrior and it's White Zombie music. Wing Commander III was awesome and there are still a few others that work really well; GEX, The Horde, and I loved Crash N' Burn and Off World Interceptor. That was half of the fun back in the day for the 3DO, that sucker screamed from a sound standpoint.

This is a stick up! Put all of your 3DO games in the bag and nobody gets hurt!

I mean, the in game music is passable and non-offensive, but I can only assume you're referring to the Jukebox that you only have access to... whilst NOT actually playing the game.
It's a cool addition, but not something I would constitute as part of the defining soundtrack to a game. Had that music played IN GAME, my list would look like yours
(p.s. big Soundgarden/Chris Cornell fan and generally stuck in the 90's when it comes to my film, music and gaming tastes btw. It just WAS the best era)

Re: List your top 3 sound tracks for 3DO
I'm a bit too new to 3DO to have a top 3, but I really liked the music for that 'Gridders' game. I don't own Night Trap on 3DO, but that would probably be number 1 in my list for the Theme Tune alone...

See, I always forget about Gridders. Awesome music indeed. It's little things like this that reminds me how cool the 3DO was/is.

Me too! Haven't played the game in forever, and this thread is as good an excuse as any to give it another whirl.

Re: List your top 3 sound tracks for 3DO
Took me a while, but my list is pretty conventional:
1.Slayer To quote my review of the game, "The pipe organ-laden musical score is so atmospheric and haunting, you can almost smell the stagnant dungeon air." That music still sends a chill down my spine every time I load a dungeon.
2.Wolfenstein 3D Lush, grandiose, and totally booming right in your face; if Jim Steinman had been a composer of video game soundtracks, it probably would have sounded something like this. And what could be more appropriate for a 1st person shooter in a pseudo-historic setting?
3.Guardian War Nothing much to say, but the music is impressively intense and emotionally compelling. Great early use of CD technology.
Iron Angel of the Apocalypse comes very close to stealing that #3 spot. So moody.
So yeah, I have a boring list. I kinda wish there were a 3DO game of which I could say, "This is a terrible game, but the soundtrack is top 3."

1) Killing Time, for jazzy goodness.
2) Space Hulk, for terrifying ambiance.
3) Street Fighter 2, for badass renditions of the themes.

Yeah, I made a recording of the title song off the PC version but the in-game wasn't too bad, nothing to write home about but it fit the game.

1. Lost Eden
2. Guardian War
3. Alone in the Dark 2
Lost Eden stands out above the others, in my opinion. It doesn't fit into the typical adrenaline boosting music. It had the benefit of being a slow paced game, I suppose.
I like most of the others mentioned too.
