Jaguar & 3DO community megamix...
Basically, I have to say, I'm really liking the ongoing marriage we have going on around here between the Jaguar and 3DO community
I realise that a good many of us here have a penchant and respect for both platforms, so that helps... but in general, I really think the integration we are seeing of both groups of fans is great!
Especially as a good many of us (from JS-II) have the right temperament and persona to fit in here, as it really isn't that dissimilar in feel to how JS-II was, if I'm honest; low key, relaxed and chilled out.
The influx of Jaguar heads and existing 3DO dudes are making this a very cool place to hang out right now
Here's hoping more Jaguar faithfuls make their way over here in good time

Funny, I was trying to spread the word for a long time way back and hardly anyone noticed. The disdain it seemed between both groups was sad. Glad that some of you are here now. To Jaguar Fans: The 3DO isn't all that bad. It's pretty cool. To the 3DO fans; The Jaguar isn't all that bad, it's pretty good. Now shake and let's get on with it.a31chris wrote:Well then try to spread the word.NeoGeoNinja wrote:Basically, I have to say, I'm really liking the ongoing marriage we have going on around here between the Jaguar and 3DO community

Danny Galaga!
I approached TrekMD too, but he seems quite heavily invested in that RVG forum right now.
RVG is a general retro forum i.e. not Jaguar centric. I explained I thought this was a great place for us all to congregate, along with the 3DO community (the ONLY 3DO community... I think?!)... but he was involved with RVG for now so, who knows.
Maybe if this grows, he could be persuaded

Re: Jaguar & 3DO community megamix...
Well as soon as it was posted here that JSII closed I started brainstorming; luckily for me I wasn't the only one and before I said anything PMs were being sent. It's also fortunate that we can hand over the moderation of this section to someone who was already very active in the Jag community. Hopefully this MegaMix will become something great as I always thought that Jag fans and 3DO fans could & should get along.

Re: Jaguar & 3DO community megamix...
JagChris is a cool dude, he hasn't joined here yet has he? I know he bought a 3DO just a few months ago, and is a longtime Jagfan. He's also working with some others on some top-secret Jag stuffs, of which I can't comment, and probably only know a fraction of anyway. But I'll leave it to the 3D0 admin/moderators to invite him. But I highly recommend him.

JagChris came about in 2003 when I first got into the online Jaguar community. I was trying to figure out a name to use. At the time I was seeing a lot of names with 'jag' in them. JaguarGod, Jagfan etc. And so as a spur of the moment decision I chose JagChris. Not the best of names I think so I did something else here just to change it up.Gunstar wrote:Same person huh? Re: Jaguar & 3DO community megamix...
I offered to set up a separate Jaguar section at RVG but people voted against it so we didn't go ahead with it, thread got an amazing amount of interest though and there was some fantastic debate. Thread is still going on actually.
There are A LOT of Jaguar fans at RVG, especially for what is essentially a multi-format forum and loads of Jaguar centric talk. Gorf is there, Stormworks are there, Terance is there and other folk such as myself, TrekMD, Tom Waits, Alberto and Dubchaser who have been involved with the Jaguar community over the years are there. We also have a great bunch of Jaguar fans who I have never seen on JS2 or AA. But it is what it is, if people don't feel it's right for them then fair enough. But it's got a ton of exclusive Jag stuff in the downloads section and then there is stuff like the Heretic and 9 Lives development threads. We are also working towards getting some prototypes released too. The chatbox is also very active and often full of Jaguar chatter. Not to mention reviews of every single Jaguar game released.
Many of the ex-JS2 guys there compare the spirit/feel of the place to the good old days of JS2 and I would be inclined to agree. We have a similar set up with people who contribute being rewarded and parts of the forum that are controlled by post count. A lot of the forum was actually set-up with JS2 in mind.
Anyway the 3DO is a cool machine so I am pleased to see the 2 communities co-existing here.

O.k. I was a bit miffed when I wrote that, I just couldn't believe the mentality and absurdity and Gaul of the guy. I doubt I'm going to be spending much more time on AA Jag forum, especially now that my two favorite consoles have a home here. I may check in there if some one mentions something important going on over there like the skunkboard declare list thread. Otherwise I'm just sick to death of the whole mentality there from the top to bottom. The 8-bit forum still rocks though, and I'll still go there for that at least.

Just wanted to chip in, as someone who's known you (Gunstar) via the JS-II forums for sometime vs this 108 Stars dude (re: FFL!)...
To be honest, 108 was going on with himself and then you came out and told him to stick his opinion up his ass (essentially). You seemed to take any obvious criticisms towards FFL personally and you shouldn't.
It's great that you extract enjoyment from the game, but (without wanting to run the risk of further disagreements)... well, that's all I'll say.
I'd rather not bring any unwanted drama here, but didn't think it fair you be so disingenuous towards 108, here on 3DO forums, by attempting to have him not be able to join etc when, in reality, he hasn't really done much wrong other than disagree with you over a not-so-well-thought-of videogame.
Chances are, based on the opinions I've shared of FFL in that thread (& JSII, in the past) that you harbor similar ill-feeling towards myself

He can hate the game and so can you and I don't mind at all. I got upset with the jerk because he was personally attacking me because I like the game...re-read his responses and you'll see. Calling someone names and attacking their intelligence because they like a game you hate is seriously insane. I'm entitled to my opinion and so is he, but he said in so many words that I'm not entitled to an opinion that differs from his about the game and saying that it's a game that there can only be one opinion on: it's terrible. THAT is what I got upset about. Seriously, how old is that guy? And then he's over there acting like what he said is nothing and that I'm the bad guy because I disagree with his opinion and I shouldn't get upset when he's attacking me personally.

I just want to apologize to everyone here for asking anyone to be blocked before they have even joined. I feel I have every right to be upset with this person, and I do hope people here are never like him, but it was still a very juvenile and knee-jerk reaction on my part and I should have just cooled down before deciding to make such a post/request. Anyway, I hope I've found an new home here for all things 3DO and Jaguar, and have just gotten so sick of the state of the Jaguar forums on AA that I won't be returning to them (I will still be hanging around 8-bit and other forums there). If 108 stars and others like him, from AA, find their way here, I will consider our mutual past at AA as water under the bridge, as I have considered that entire forum as water under the bridge.Gunstar wrote:I have ONE person I'm begging the admin to block from joining, 108stars from AA.
