Mobius' homebrew.

Post by 3DOKid » Thu Jun 19, 2008 7:46 am

This deserves a thread of it's own at the very least. Mobius', dude, that was very cool. Thank you.

For those who haven't read the other thread, Mobius has put together a tiny little demo from the 3DO.

Now, even those of us who don't have dev station can see it because it runs in Freedo, which I assume we all have a copy of? (if not www.freedo.org and download a copy)

You will also need a copy of the RSA-Free patched bios. Use Google. Use the words: RSA patched 3do bios and then, I'm guessing, the forth link down. A wild lucky guess. If you have problems PM me. I will mock you however.

Then download Mobius' homebrew:
http://www.infinitydev.net/3DO/orbit.zip
unzip it, and you are good to go.

I, personally think, it's amazing. It certainly brought a few moments of joy to me today! Thank you Mobius.

Glad you enjoyed. But like I said with the last demo, I don't want to take too much credit. This is sample code from 3DO themselves that I just managed to get up and running.

Nonetheless, this means all the pieces are in place, and the infrastructure is there for people to start doing their own development. I'll probably try out some of my own code pretty soon.

Now if we could just crack that encryption...

As for encryption I was at a Russian site, you all know the one and I saw he has something up... Free 3DO Encryption 'till Nov 2018. 'Course you still have to deal with him, which from what I hear sucks but... http://thdo-homebrew.narod.ru/Free_3DO_Encryption.htm

just a thanks from all of us non-tech people mobius. Your work is appreciated and we can only hope that this may spur some more on towards that holy grail of encryption. If only someone can get hold of the rumoured nearly complete MK3 , waterworld , wing 4 etc. ....still there's hope! :)
