Another Korean 3DO oddity
While sorting through a few of my loose 3DO pads a couple of weeks ago...
... I happened across this...
... which at first glance I assumed to be the 3DO Fighting Sword pad...
... which it clearly is not.
I love digging through old boxes
Has anyone here seen this pad before? I'll keep digging to see if I have a boxed one as I am kind of curious to see what the box looks like.

umm i think the question should be
do you have that many systems to bundle those controllers with?
i have never seen that controller before
it almost looks like it would go with that battleking thingy you got

I see what you are saying, but that Function Box only works with the Battle King joystick.
This pad plugs directly into a 3DO console and has a surprisingly good feel to it. I actually kind of like it.
how does it control? did you test it with any games yet?bitrate wrote:Lemmi wrote: i have never seen that controller before

the style reminds me of a SNES controller

Yep. I tried it with Super Street Fighter II as I thought that would be a good test and it performed really nice. Handles diagonals well and it just feels nice.
The button layout could be better for SSFIIT but I just wanted to try it on this game as a lot of control pads weaknesses can be found with Street Fighter it seems.

Honestly, as funny as this sounds, the pad looks almost identical to the Neo Geo CD Controller, even the directional Knob look for the D-Pad. And you guessed it, I have also never seen that pad before.. Nice find there dude. Oh, and just for the record, I would about kill for a couple of those Panasonic pads you got there! Now I know why I can never find any anywhere!
This is a stick up! Put all of your 3DO games in the bag and nobody gets hurt!
Indeed, I was about to post the same thing. The Neo Geo CD controllers are nice, especially for fighting games.T2KFreeker wrote:Honestly, as funny as this sounds, the pad looks almost identical to the Neo Geo CD Controller, even the directional Knob look for the D-Pad.
Bitrate, are you selling? I'd like a decent controller for SSFIIT and the Capcom ones just seem bizarre to me.

Here we go, it's definitely the one that came with the 3DO Blaster:

Actually there are two of them, one came with the Blaster the other was sold on it's own. A friend of mine bought one from Electronics Boutique, it's kinda uncomfortable but it looks cool. When he got rid of his stuff he never asked if I wanted anything. Little jerk. :P

Ooh, dude, let me know when you pull this off. Well, please, if you don't mind. I know, I'm a jerk.bitrate wrote:Mobius wrote: Bitrate, are you selling? I'd like a decent controller for SSFIIT and the Capcom ones just seem bizarre to me.
I'm sure that I can offload a few of these. Let me finish sorting through all of the pads (yes, I have more boxes of them).

3DO Experience has a keen eye. The control pad his arrow is pointing to is actually a pretty difficult pad to find.
Logitech designed all three control pads pictured below.
The control pad on the left that was included with the 3DO Blaster is identical to the control pad in the middle with one exception. The one on the middle (which was sold by itself) does not have the "Creative" badging in the top center.
Also, as I said, the one in the center without the badging is very hard to come by.
The one on the right was the follow up pad to the one in the center.
I've included boxed copies of the control pads behind each control pad to show what their boxes look like.
But it will probably be some time after the Holidays.

Haha, that's disgusting man (unless you are female?????)
And I think you are the second person on these boards to say that, so you'll have to wait in line.

Hmm, I'll have to go back and take a look at Decathlon.

Right. This is the one, delivered together with the 3DO Blaster. It has no headphone jack, and it misses the interface for the second Pad.Quagmire wrote:the one the arrow is pointing to is the worst pad ever.
The shoulder buttons are exactly the same kind, as all other buttons.
The good is, the Pad lies better in your hand, as you would expect, and the D-Pad is really good.
You can ask here, if he will accept buyers from outside of germany, but really, it is not worth, except you want them as a collector.3DO Experience wrote:Plus what my arrow is pointing to in your photo.
