2009 3DO Play Record

Post by The_Legend » Thu Jan 08, 2009 10:08 pm

Okay, I'm a little late on this, so bear with me.

I've seen this on another forum and decided to start one on a few others.

Basically, when you play a 3DO game (game, proto, "adult game", demo, etc) post what you played and for how long. Try to keep the play time converted to minutes. I'll try to post updates within the thread and keep track of what's being played and total play time.

I think it'll be cool to see what games get played the most this year. If you've already played some this year, if you can try to remember what and for how long. If not, that's fine...we can start it as of today.

So fire up those 3DO systems, and let's see what's played the most of 2009!

I cruised around in Starfighter for about an hour today.
Even if the morrow is barren of promises, nothing shall forestall my return.

Share some thoughts about the games as you play them, too... Maybe you'll spark others to try them if they haven't played them, and it's easier than writing a full review. :)

Last week I played Super Street Fighter II Turbo to completion a few times while trying out the various 3DO arcade sticks.

Nothing really to report on the game other than it is an awesome port made perfect with the right control pad or stick.

Last week ...

Spent about 1 1/2 hours on both Cyberdillo & Life Stage The former to remind myself that it isn't crap, the latter to brave brutal load times for what truly is an amazing piece of eye candy tech demo!

Also put in about 1 hour on old standby Road Rash.

Need For Speed- 2 Hours Today

I kept replaying my crashes and laughing my ass off at them. Or watching the car chase from the cop cam is always good fun. What a great game.

just left a job of 5 years to try something new only to be made redundant - so I took my newly found time to hook up my cdi - and surprise surprise it won't load any discs so to vent my growing frustration and anger with the world I just played 1/2 hour of microcosm on my trusty TRY and felt a whole lot better afterwards.
Somebody needs to make a doom III mod with accountants as the enemy ....I'd play that

Another 2 hours playing Pebble Beach Golf Links, the back nine this time again against the wife and the CPU opponent. Also had about 5-10 minutes of Quarantine, whilst waiting for the missus to finish her shower, pre-Pebble Beach.

I've been keeping a paper list next to my 3DO machines.

2 hours of PO'ed. (Got stuck / lost  )
6 hours of Policenauts (With the printed FAQ is hardwork and the game is kind ofboring)
2 hours of Street Fighter 2 Turbo (proving to myself it's the best)
2 hours of Samuari Shodown (NTSC obviously)
A very long time on Theme Park. I'm not sure how long, I left it running over night and came back but I didn't write it down.
40 mins on Shock Wave 2 (Can't stick with it)
2.5 hours on Armageddon
30 mins of Ballz.
30 mins of Burning SOldier (some kid asked me to make youtube Vid)
20 mins of StarBlade. (+3 hours of having the attract mode in the background as I recall)
20 mins Dr Hauzer, but couldn't get back into it.
20 mins AITD but same as above.
10 mins of Primal Rage after i mentioned it the other day. (it's actually better in NTSC too :) LOL

I have my 3DO I got when I was 12 (in 94) and put it away since I dont want to break it. I just snagged a min condition one on Ebay for $50 that I plan on beating SC2 on.

I'm about 4 hours in.

Put in about an hour on Star Control 2, playing the super melee section. I then tried Panzer General for about an hour and 20 minutes. Most of the time it was listening to the background music, whilst reading the guide, with a quick spasmodic attempt at working the multiple menus in this game.
I don't have the patience or tolerance for strategy games. I'm kidding myself trying to play them. I think I'll give up on these and burn my retinas and attempt to have seizures from playing Bladeforce instead, when I next turn on the 'Doe'

Another 1.5 hours trying to play (and to like playing) Panzer General. I did begin to understand the nuances of this game, but still the fun factor eludes me. The music is annoying but not as annoying as the repeating 'click' that introduce battle animations in the game...I swear its a cue for the sound bytes that accompany the animations. And this game got awards, according to the box art-Sheeesh  !
I'll keep persevering..... :x
