3DO graphics issue blue lines artifacting on screen

Hey guys. I just got an early FZ1 3DO and im having a problem with it and was wondering if anybody has any ideas?

When i turn on the 3DO the initial screen the insert disk screen has this Blue static looking lines . artifacting in the black after awhile it seems like its not as bad but its still there. these lines show up for RCA as well as RF connections. Ive tried my buddies 3DO on the same TV and cables and his doesn't do this. .. anybody have any ideas?

I take it that these lines are persistent throughout gameplay as well?
Any chance you could grab a photo or screen capture of the lines?

the lines are for the most part only apparent when the system is not in full screen. eg it is displayed when there is a solid black background

i can post screen shots when i get home from work

yikes. My only suggestion to you is to open it up and see if it needs some cleaning inside. I doubt dust could cause that though :/ Maybe someone else has some more technical info.

I would try powering it on with the cover off and pushing on the chips to see if the condition goes away. Use the plastic end of a screwdriver. Maybe you have a loose or bad solder connection.

I opened it up and cleaned it when i wasnt sure if it was cables or not i will reopen the system and see if there is anything obvious and i will try Bonefish's suggestion. i will update after i take it apart ..

The only thing I can think of is a dry solder joint. I've seen that kind of thing before, with the blue, but the RGB connector was cream-crackered. It worked fine on RF.

Pretty much a faulty video encoder.

well i took it apart and the solder joints looked good didnt even see anything questionable.

im starting to think WindowsKiller is right that its a bad video encoder or a bad part of some kind.
