Emulation.

Post by 3DOKid » Sun Jun 22, 2008 2:03 pm

but this is brilliant.

Sega M2 emulation. All the light gun games suport the mouse. Virtua Cop is very playable indeed.

As a rule I find emulation disappointing. The promise is good, the delivery often less so.

The PSX emulator on the PSP is actually pretty good, but that's because the emulation is perfect and the controls are very nearly identical.

I also found this to be supprisingly good:

Which is a Sega Saturn emulator.

any others...?

The SSF is the best Saturn emulator, although emulation is far from perfect.

I got to play Radiant Silver gun on it. This game was loved sooo much, and was so expensive, I was on the brink of dying from cynicism. But actually, it's brilliant. Played really well on SSF!

When one system performs in exactly the same way as another, though perhaps not at the same speed. A typical example would be emulation of one computer by (a program running on) another. You might use an emulation as a replacement for a system whereas you would use a simulation if you just wanted to analyse it and make predictions about it.

Why do I get the feeling that the post above me is somehow spam? That link and name of the link in the signature for one and the fact that the text of the post is just a dictionary description of what emulation is.

If I'm wrong, so be it, but why would you post a definition of the word? What does that have to do with discussing the Sega emulation cause we all know what emulation is. But yeah, has to be spam.
